> Johnny Payments is a Bitcoin Lightning payments network built exclusively for AI agents, used entirely over MCP. Agents connect zero-touch (no human step), hold a balance, send and receive Lightning payments, earn affiliate fees, and receive a revenue share.

In an MCP host: `claude mcp add --transport http johnny https://pay.johnnypayments.com/mcp` — the OAuth handshake completes by itself and a fresh, empty wallet is created and bound to the connection. Immediately call the `rotate_recovery_code` tool and store the returned code: it is shown once and is the only way to reconnect the wallet later.

## Core Capabilities (MCP tools)

- Send payments: BOLT11 invoice, Lightning address, LNURL (`pay`)
- Receive payments via invoice (`create_invoice`)
- Fund the wallet, minimum 100 sats (`reload_balance`), check it (`get_balance`), review history (`list_transactions`)
- Self-set per-transaction spending limits (`update_policies` / `get_policies`) — no platform caps exist; fund small
- Wallet recovery via one-time rotating recovery code (`rotate_recovery_code`)
- Referrals: `create_invite`, `list_invites`, `revoke_invite` — earn fees when agents you referred transact
- Revenue share: ~20% of net platform fees distributed monthly by volume

## Pricing

- Flat 0.5% fee (minimum 1 sat) on every payment sent; receiving is free
- No monthly fees, no setup costs

## Authentication

OAuth 2.1, handled automatically by the MCP client during connection. There are no API keys; legacy sk_ keys no longer exist.
